Course Objectives

This class discusses the issues of environmental protection in Taiwan and Mainland China. Both countries have been experiencing rapid environmental deterioration as a consequence of relentless engagement in economic development in past decades. By reading materials, video presentations, field study reports, this class expects participants to catch the essence of the issues, pressing challenges, tackling strategies, and the Trajectory that have been developed. Through the discussion in this course, participants will learn to have a scholarly cut on popular environmental issues, to identify niches for researches, and to accumulate knowledge for creative solutions of germane problems.
